Le Bonheur Children’s is building for the more than 130,000 children who come to the hospital each year for care. The new Le Bonheur will allow the hospital to continue to be a resource for families, recruit and retain top talent and expand the science behind pediatric medicine for decades to come.
Thanks to a generous community, Le Bonheur broke ground on the new hospital in February 2008 and the new Le Bonheur Children’s will open in the summer of 2010. The $340-million, 610,000-square-foot hospital will double Le Bonheur’s current space for patient care, research and teaching. The new hospital is designed to serve the children of our area for the next 50 years and beyond. Everything from interior design to state-of-the-art technology is focused on one thing - providing exceptional care for children.
At a cost of $340 million, Le Bonheur Children's must raise a significant portion of funds from the community. A major fund-raising campaign goal was set at $100 million, and in 2009, we reached that goal
Le Bonheur will complete the facility addition in summer 2010. Renovation of the current facility and addition of a parking garage will be complete in 2011.
