Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center is designed as a place for kids - from kid-sized beds to grape-flavored anesthesia. We understand that surgery can be a scary experience for both parent and child, and our expert staff is specially trained to treat children. At Le Bonheur, your child will be in the hands of pediatricians who are experts in their fields.

Pre-op Screening
Our staff ensures paperwork and examinations are complete prior to your child's surgery so that you can concentrate on what matters most – your child.

Starlight Room
Some procedures do not require complete sedation (being put to “sleep”). When only moderate sedation is required, we have relaxation techniques to reduce pain and provide comfort.
|
Pre-operative Teaching Programs
Each week, a special program provides children scheduled for surgery and their parents the opportunity to learn more about what it’s like to have surgery. The program is designed to help children understand their hospital visit.

Bunny Room
Before surgery, there's one thing every child must do - hop to the Bunny Room to pick out a special toy. When a child awakens after surgery, the toy is nearby and ready for play time.

Recovery Room
Once surgery has been completed, your child will be brought to the recovery room, also called the post-anesthesia care unit (also called PACU). You may wait at your child's bedside in the recovery room for your child to wake up from anesthesia.

Le Bonheur East Surgery Center
At the surgery center, our commitment to excellent care extends to our freestanding surgery center specializing exclusively in pediatrics. The center offers same-day surgery allowing children to return to their own home within hours.
