The New England Journal of Medicine published research results on Aug. 21 from a clinical trial of a drug shown to safely reduce the viral load and clinical illness of healthy adult volunteers intranasally infected with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital has announced a new public giving campaign, Everyday Heroes, through which individuals or corporate partners can make a donation to help save lives through a gift to the hospital. To double the impact of the gifts, Le Bonheur is participating in the CN Miracle Match program.
While staying safe as a driver and a passenger is important, riding in a car isn’t the only time a teen is at risk for a serious injury involving a motor vehicle. In 2012, 284 teens ages 13 to 19 died after being hit by a motor vehicle while walking. Another 10,000 were injured. Said another way-- every hour a teen pedestrian is killed or injured in the United States. Unfortunately, teens account for one-third of the population of children in the United States, but they make up two-thirds of the pedestrian fatalities.
The annual Radiothon for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital presented by Radio Ambiente will be live on-air at the station, Park Avenue, Memphis, Tenn., beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. and ending 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22.
