Inaugural Cardiac Care of the Young Athlete Symposium | April 17–18, 2026

This symposium is designed to encompass state-of-the-art practices and trends in cardiovascular risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and clearance decisions for young athletes. Clinically- and academically- oriented faculty will address relevant issues and provide valuable information and insight into situations commonly presented to subspecialists and primary care providers.

Abstract Submissions

Clinicians, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, researchers and trainees are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the Cardiac Care of the Young Athlete Conference. This is an opportunity to showcase innovative research, quality improvement initiatives, case series and clinical experiences related to:

  • Sports Cardiology
  •  Sudden cardiac death prevention
  • Pre-participation screening
  • Arrhythmias in young athletes
  • Congenital heart disease and sports participation
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and genetic cardiology
  • Orthopedic–cardiac interface in athletes
  • Metabolic and cardiovascular performance
  • Ethical decision-making and shared decision-making in sports clearance

Presentation Opportunities

Poster Presentation

Accepted abstracts will be presented during the dedicated Poster Session.


60-Second Abstract Showcase

All selected abstracts will be given the opportunity for a 60-second rapid-fire oral spotlight presentation prior to the poster session. This showcase allows presenters to deliver a concise summary of their work and highlight key findings.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract word limit: [300 words]
  • Structured format: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions
  • Submission deadline: March 24, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: April 1, 2026
  • Submit as a Word document. A PDF is acceptable.
