Highlighting its nationally recognized achievements in patient safety and quality, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital was named a Top Children’s Hospital by The Leapfrog Group. Announced today, the Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive. The Top Hospital designation is awarded by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization.
The selection is a testament to Le Bonheur being the best place for kids in the region. Le Bonheur has faithfully served this community for more than 60 years and is consistently evolving as a best children’s hospital in Tennessee and throughout the nation.
Among thousands of hospitals in the country, Le Bonheur received a Top Children’s Hospitals distinction, recognized nationally alongside:
- 10 Top Children’s Hospitals
- 45 Top General Hospitals
- 18 Top Rural Hospitals
- 36 Top Teaching Hospitals
“This award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors hospitals can receive and is another proof statement of the superb care Le Bonheur provides patients and families,” said Le Bonheur President Meri Armour. “Qualifications for this award include low infection rates, high quality on high-risk procedures and lower readmission rates. The standards are high and Le Bonheur met them – the first hospital in West Tennessee to ever do so.”
Le Bonheur is one of only two hospitals in Tennessee to be named on the 2017 list.
To qualify for the Top Hospitals distinction, hospitals must submit a Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The selection of Top Hospitals 2017 is based on surveys from nearly 1,900 hospitals. To see the full list of institutions honored as 2017 Top Hospitals, visit www.leapfroggroup.org/tophospitals.
