Le Bonheur Heart Institute experts to present at World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, International PDA Symposium

Pediatric experts from Le Bonheur’s Heart Institute and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center will present lectures, posters, abstracts and hands-on workshops at the International PDA Symposium (Aug. 26-27) and the World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery (Aug. 27 – Sept. 1) in Washington, D.C. This year, Le Bonheur Heart Institute Co-Executive Director Jeffrey A. Towbin, MD, MS, was chosen to present a Landmark Lecture on “Final Common Pathways Associated with Cardiomyopathies and Arrhythmias” at the World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.

The World Congress is traditionally held every four years and is a large international meeting with the goal of being the most comprehensive, up-to-date and technologically advanced meeting for pediatric and congenital heart disease. This is the first time the World Congress will be held in the continental United States.

Le Bonheur’s International PDA Symposium will be held as a part of the World Congress pre-conference. Directed by Le Bonheur’s Medical Director of the Interventional Catheterization Lab Shyam Sathanandam, MD, FSCAI, the International PDA Symposium is the premier multispecialty symposium on advanced management of the patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in newborns. The course brings experts from around the world for robust discussion on current management of the PDA in premature infants.
