What is MAC?

The aerodigestive program is a multidisciplinary program that diagnoses and treats pediatric patients with complex multi-systematic problems affecting airway, breathing, feeding, swallowing, or growth.

Conditions Treated:

• Oropharyngeal dysphagia (Difficulty swallowing liquids, solids or both), Laryngomalacia, Laryngeal Cleft, Tracheomalacia, Subglottic Stenosis, Tracheal Stenosis, VPI, Allergic Rhinitis, Food Sensitivities 
• Laryngopharyngeal Reflux, Gastroesphageal Reflux, Delayed Gastric Emptying, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Short Gut, Constipation
• Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Obstructive Sleep Amnea, Reactive Asthma Disease, Asthma, Bronchiectasis
• Oral Aversion, Feeding Difficulties, Tongue Tie, Lip Tie
• Esophageal stricture, Tracheal-Esophageal Fistula

  • Pulmonology/ Sleep Medicine: Spirometry, Polysomnogram (PSG – Sleep Study)
  • Radiology: Chest X-ray (CXR), Lateral Soft Tissue Neck X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT Scan) of Head, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) head
  • Gastroenterology: pH Probe, Gastric Emptying Scan (GES), Esophagram, Upper Gastrointestinal Study (UGI), Kidney Ureter Bladder X-ray (KUB), Impedance/Manometry

ENT: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS), Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES), Flexible Fiberoptic Laryngoscopy (FFL) and Videostroboscopy

• Triple Scope: ENT – Rigid Bronchoscopy, Pulmonology – Flexible Bronchoscopy, GI – Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
• ENT: FFL, Direct Laryngoscopy and Bronchoscopy (DLB), Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy (DISE), Cleft Repair, Supraglottoplasty (SGP), Balloon Dilation, Laryngotracheal Reconstruction (LTR), Tracheostomy Tube Placement
