Your child’s health and well-being extends beyond simple physical symptoms and signs. Our psychiatrists understand that each child’s mental health is impacted by many factors. We work with patients and their families to provide the treatments needed for each individual child. Whether your child needs medication management or a referral for counseling, our providers are experts in all aspects of pediatric behavioral health.
Why Le Bonheur?
All of our psychiatrists are board and adolescent certified. At Le Bonheur, we look at your child’s health from a total health perspective collaborating with other specialties for your child’s mental and physical wellbeing.
Le Bonheur psychiatry only accepts patients via internal provider referrals. Talk to your Le Bonheur provider to see if a psychiatry referral is the right choice for your child.
What to expect at your visit
First appointments last at least one hour. You are welcome to bring snacks, books or small toys. Please bring a list of medications, any testing, medical records or previous psychiatric history as well as your insurance, ID and new patient packet. The child’s parent or legal guardian must be present at the first appointment.
Patients will undergo a thorough psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner to determine the needed treatment plan. Children younger than 10 years or with special needs need to have two adults present. A part of the evaluation may require the parent to be separated from the child and require another adult for supervision.
