At UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists, we want children to feel like part of the family. We love seeing your children grow, develop and mature into young adults. We will help you keep your child healthy with regularly scheduled examinations. During these visits, your doctor will discuss all types of child care issues: immunizations, nutrition and safety. Our goal is to build relationships with your family to make sure your child’s health needs are met.
We know how important it is for you to keep records on your child as he/she grows. We make that easy for you with MyChart. You can look at prescriptions, request refills, see appointments and history and even check lab reports.
Prescriptions
Many children with chronic illness require daily, long-term medication. Our office is happy to call in refills for these medications during weekday office hours. Remember to have the prescription number and the telephone number of your pharmacy when you call. You can also use MyChart for refill services.
We prefer not to call in antibiotic prescriptions without an office visit. Remember that your child’s stimulant medication (Ritalin, Adderall) cannot be called in by phone. Make sure you call before you run out of medication.
Lab
Our office laboratory can perform the following tests:
- Urinalysis (UA) without microscopy
- Rapid testing for flu, COVID, RSV, strep and others
- Urine pregnancy test
- Mononucleosis Rapid Screen
- Check lab reports using MyChart
We have fulfilled the requirements to have CLIA Certification to perform these tests. Our lab procedures are carefully documented and overseen by a licensed medical technologist.
Other tests, such as serum chemistries or cultures, will require sending your child to our hospital or a referral laboratory. Your insurance plan may require you to go to a specific outside of our referral lab.
Billing & Insurance
Our billing office will file your insurance claims. Many insurance plans require that we collect a co-pay at the time of your office visit. Other insurance plans pay a set percentage of the charges. It is important that we have up-to-date insurance information on your family’s health plan. Please be sure to inform the office staff of any changes to your insurance as soon as they occur. If your insurance plan does not pay all of your charges, the balance will be your responsibility. Statements are mailed monthly, and payment is expected in a timely manner.
You can pay your bill online through your MyChart account. If you don’t have a MyChart account you can pay your bill through our guest pay portal.
