SHIFT

Supporting and Healing Individuals From Trauma (SHIFT) is a Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, also known as an HVIP, that assists Le Bonheur patients and families who have been impacted by violence. A multidisciplinary team identifies the needs of children and families and connects them with wraparound services including mental health counseling, housing assistance, mentorship and other resources. Early data shows that the program reduces the number of participants’ interactions with the juvenile justice system and helps get them reenrolled and reengaged in school.

Families can be enrolled for up to a year, thanks to generous donations and local government funding.
